Large orders (over $100) require at least 3 weeks' advanced notice and a 50% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance must be paid upon delivery for all orders.
The Cake Sculptress may be able to take rush-orders (less than 2 weeks' notice for large cakes, less than 1 week for smaller orders); however, since there is no guarantee that rush-orders will be accepted, it is highly recommended that you place your order with as much notice as possible. For orders placed less than 2 weeks before the event, full payment is expected at the time the order is placed. If your rush order is accepted, an additional fee may be applied.
Payment can be made in cash or check. Orders $100 and over will require a 50% non-refundable deposit to officially place the order and reserve your date. The remaining balance is received at delivery, if not sooner. If full payment is not received, you will not get your order, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Delivery within 10 miles from Dennis, MA center (zip 02638) is included in the price for orders over $30. Each mile over the 10 miles is $2.00/mile. For orders under $30, a minimum delivery charge of $5 will apply. To avoid delivery charges, a meeting place can be arranged. Delivery of wedding cakes are the exception; see below.
Wedding cake tastings are $25, all of which will be applied to the final price of your cake. Price quotes will be based on size, flavor, and design complexity and will include set-up fee and delivery up to 25 miles from Dennis, MA center ($2.00 per mile beyond 25 miles). A signed agreement detailing date, time, location, directions, cake design, flavor, and contact information is required. At that time, a 50% non-refundable deposit must be made to reserve date and will be deducted from the final balance. The entire payment must be made one week prior to delivery.
The Cake Sculptress is not responsible for an order's handling after delivery/pick-up.

If you would like fresh flowers on your cake, please send the name of your florist so that The Cake Sculptress can coordinate with that vendor.
Cancellation Policy:
If a wedding or large event cake order is cancelled more than three weeks before the date, you may receive a refund equal to any amount paid over the 50% non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be issued for orders cancelled less than three weeks before event date.
For small orders (under $100), you may cancel up to 48 hours before set delivery time and receive a refund for any amount paid over $25. No refunds will be issued for orders cancelled less than 48 hours before set delivery time.

How soon do I need to place an order before my event?
Wedding cake and large specialty cake orders can be made no less than a month before the event, though three to six months' notice is preferred and recommended to reserve date. Other cake orders and large orders must be placed at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Most brownie orders can be accomodated in as little as five days. Please contact me to see if rush-orders are being accepted; an additional charge may apply.
Where do I pick up my cake/order?
All orders will be delivered to your home/event, or a specified meeting place.
Why doesn't The Cake Sculptress have anything with peanuts or nuts?
As a mom of a child with these allergies, I know how hard it can be to find safe baked goods. I do not hesitate to give my son anything I make; however, because I may not be as strict as other parents with what ingredients I use, I cannot guarantee totally peanut- and nut-free products.
